We are delighted to announce the launch of Titan, a new DEX aggregator on Solana. Titan provides users the best swap price by searching through Solana’s on chain liquidity through trusted sources like Orca, Raydium, and Phoenix. It then deploys revolutionary routing algorithms based on cutting edge mathematics to determine the best price a user can get when trading any token. Titan currently outperforms competitors 81% of the time with an average 1% outperformance.
A New Algorithmic Approach
Historically, DEX aggregators have relied on shortest path algorithms to determine routes between liquidity. In doing so, they have benefitted from battle tested algorithms that are simple to implement and test. However, given the nature of the crypto markets and latency requirements, many pools must be eliminated if these types of algorithms are used due to their inability to factor in price impacts
In addition to this, a specific route in a network may not have significant capacity. If the pools involved have a small TVL then the price can change rapidly as more of the users’ funds are swapped through each relevant exchange. To capture the effects of price impact, liquidity is frequently chunked into pieces so that each exchange is broken into many parts with an average price and a certain capacity. Currently, Jupiter, another DEX aggregator, chunks their routes into neat 10% buckets. This increases the size of the network being searched and leads to inaccuracies if the pool is poorly resolved.
These two challenges are the main obstacles in applying shortest path methods for DEX aggregation. To address them, Titan leverages a different set of algorithms that focus on optimization. These algorithms can efficiently resolve price impacts with machine-level precision without fragmenting pools and eliminates the need to exclude various liquidity sources, thus leading to a true optimal on-chain price.
Aggregator of Aggregators
In addition to providing its own routes, Titan is also considered an aggregator of aggregators. Users will always get the best price as Titan requests quotes from a variety of route providers and provides the best price to the user. This alleviates the need to check multiple platforms for fleeting quotes. Direct comparisons between route providers will be provided to ensure full transparency for all users.
Innovation has always been a result of competition and building upon previous ideas, and DEX aggregation is no exception. Currently, there is only one dominant player in the Solana DEX aggregation business. This is of course Jupiter, which has done great things for the Solana ecosystem and has driven a lot of progress. We believe that our offering builds on top of Jupiter’s offering and strives to provide even better routes and prices for users, thus contributing to the goal of utilizing on chain liquidity to its maximum benefit. Through competition between algorithms, users and projects can be confident that the most ideal routes are always chosen to maximize their value and best utilize on-chain liquidity.
